Launch of the 12th Industry Week

Since 2011, the aim of Industry Week has been to inspire young people to take up careers in industry, by giving them a fresh look at the industry and its professions through the organization of events throughout France.

Discover industrial professions

The 12th edition of Industry Week will run from November 27 to December 3 under the theme "With industry, build your future". For several days, companies will be showcasing their trades and know-how to the public.

For their part, secondary school students, apprentices and jobseekers will have the opportunity to discover an innovative sector, useful to the needs of the French people (health, energy, mobility, food...). There are plenty of opportunities to be had in this sector, which mainly recruits qualified profiles, from CAP to Bac+5, particularly through apprenticeships.

A sector that recruits

According to DARES, by 2022, 8 out of 10 occupations will be under pressure or very under pressure. Along with construction and public works, industry is one of the sectors most affected. In total, 27 of the top 30 occupations belong to these two sectors. At the top of the list are mechanical and metalworking technicians, and electrical and electronics draughtsmen. Construction engineers, site managers and site supervisors follow.

These tensions are mainly due to the intensity of hiring and the lack of available manpower.

Thousands of events organized in France

Thousands of events will be organized across France between November 27 and December 3 to encourage young people and jobseekers to choose these professions.

The public will be able to discover how industrial companies operate, and in particular, the manufacturing, design and innovation processes used in factories as well as in fast-growing startups.

Hands-on workshops will directly involve visitors interested in robotics, mechanics or programming, and enable them to develop their skills.

Escapes games are among the new features on offer this year. A number of industry-related challenges and puzzles will be available to learn more about the sector.

Finally, other events and meetings will be organized to make the industry accessible to as many people as possible.

All the events on offer can be geolocated using an interactive map available on semaine-industrie.gouv.fr. If you'd like to sign up for an educational workshop, an escape game or a meeting organized near you, whether you're a teacher or just a visitor, you'll find all the information and details you need by clicking on the event of your choice.

Industry Week is a not-to-be-missed event for anyone thinking about their professional future, and for companies wishing to promote their skills and know-how.
